Betterbee is pleased to announce a Field Day Honey Swap!

To celebrate our 20th Field Day and 45 Years in Business we have decided to hold a honey swap!

Here's how it works: You bring a few jars of clean, tasty, labeled honey to the honey swap table, and turn them over to our staff in exchange for as many Betterbee Honey Swap Bucks as you brought jars. We recommend half-pound jars, so there are lots to go around. If you bring 10 jars, you'll get 10 tickets. We'll sort and organize all the honey, and then sometime after lunch you can swing back to the table and trade your tickets for jars of honey that other people brought!

Rules:

  • Beekeepers are invited to bring up to 10 half-pound jars of honey for the honey swap. No more than 20 jars per person will be accepted.
  • The target jar size is half-pound jars. If you bring smaller jars, your entry is unlikely to be accepted. If you bring larger jars, you won't get any extra tickets for bringing extra honey, and you'll ultimately go home with less honey.
  • Each jar of your honey must be labeled with at least your name (or business name) and address so that we can trace which honey came from where. Hand-labeled jars are okay, as long as it has the needed information. Check out this article on what we (and the FDA) consider necessary information on a honey label.
  • Special honeys don't get you special tickets! You're welcome to bring creamed honey, or extra large jars, but each jar will only be worth one ticket, and will be exchanged for a half-pound jar brought by another swap participant.
  • Which jars you get will be determined by our team, to try to keep things split fairly between all participants.
  • The more people participating, the more fun this will be, so tell your friends to submit some honey to the swap!
