The first mite treatment approved for use during the honey flow! These pads contain formic acid, a natural agent found in honey and bee venom. No residue means that this product can be used without removing honey supers. It is approved by organic honey certifying agencies. Simply place two pads on top of the brood frames in each hive when temperatures are between 50-85?. The treatment period is 7 days but the pads do not need to be removed immediately after treatment. Entrances should not be restricted during treatment to permit sufficient airflow through the hive. Use chemical resistant gloves and read and follow all label directions when using Mite Away Quick Strips.
Each packet contains 2 Strips. 10 packets per container.
Note: Using MAQS on a hive often leads to some dead bees and/or brood in front of the hive. Treatment is not recommended unless you know that your varroa mite count in excess of the treatment threshold.
For information on checking for mites, see Randy Oliver's website scientificbeekeeping.com for mite sampling methods and thresholds.
