| Bee Frame Anatomy
It is very important for a beekeeper to know what the various "things" are on a bee frame. This can be very difficult for people just getting started. Eggs are tiny and can be difficult to see. The pollen coming in on the bees looks very different than the pollen in the cells. To try to make things a bit easier, below is a labelled bee frame. We hope this helps.
- A - Uncapped honey in every direction from the labelled cell. Click here to see Capped Honey.
- B - Pollen (bee bread) in the labelled cell and the two above it.
- C - Capped worker brood. Drone brood has a more domed cap and is more bullet shaped. Click here to see Drone brood on a Pierco Drone Frame.
- D - Various aged larva in every direction, except to the left, which is empty.
- E - Unhatched eggs in every direction.
