Either place this on your debris tray or just slip it under the varroa screen. Leave it there for 3 days and then remove it to count the mites. Once you have the total number of mites, divide the number by 3 to get the mite drop per day. In spring if you have more than 5 mites per day or 10 mites per day in fall, it is recommended that you treat. Of course, this is just a guide.
