Smokers and Smoker Fuel

3 types of smokers and 3 types of fuel for all types of beekeepers.  Beekeepers are as varied in their needs and tastes as the general population is. One will be just right for you.

How to Choose the Best Smoker:

The burn time of a smoker is directly correlated to the size of a smoker and fuel being used.

If you have more than 10 hives, we recommend a 4" x 10" smoker (the Super Pro Hive Smoker); otherwise, you will spend more time refueling your smoker than working bees.  It is, however, heavier and bulkier for small hands.

A 4" x 10" smoker (the Economy Smoker or the Global Smoker) easily holds enough fuel to work up to 10 hives without having to refill it; it is lighter and easier to handle.

Hint: An easy way to light your smoker is to place crumpled newspaper in the bottom of the smoker, light it, and then place your fuel over the top of it and repeatedly compress the smoker bellows.
