Is your hive suffering from a varroa infestation? Apiguard is an EPA approved, thymol based miticide that provides a safe, easy alternative to "hard chemical" treatments. The use of this product is as simple as removing the foil lid and placing the container on the top bars of the hive. Apiguard should be used between 60 and 100° F and the warmer it is, the better it works. Available in packs of 10 (treats 5 hives), or a bulk pail of 6.6 pounds, which treats 30 hives and includes dispensing tools. Please follow all label instructions.
Note 1: The bees must be able to access the gel. Use either a Betterbee Shim or an empty super to elevate the hive cover to provide the necessary space.
Note 2: Thymol vapors are heavier than air, so it is important to seal off the varroa screens.
Note 3: Not approved for use during a honey flow.
