BeeMax® Wooden Inner Cover

Inner Covers are not always necessary on BeeMax® Hives, but they can provide an increase in insulation value. Like our 10 Frame and 8 Frame versions, this inner cover provides ventilation for the hive. If you feed with a Pail Feeder, you will definitely need one.

Hint: We also like to use this inner cover in combination with our Beemax® Hivetop Feeder to ventilate the 3 Gal. sugar syrup receptacle. Simply place a popsicle stick (or handful of grass if you're in the field and in a pinch) between the outer and inner cover. This will create some air flow and help prevent condensation and mold from forming due to high temperatures. Honey-B-Healthy is also a great supplement when added to the syrup that is not only going to boost your bees immune system, but can help prevent excess mold if you fill the feeder to capacity.
